Cara’s passion for consulting began after years of feeling overwhelmed and uninformed in the special education world as a parent of two children with unique needs. She made it her mission to become an expert in this area, and now helps other families like her own, as well as the teachers and schools who support them.
In the past decade, Cara has successfully advocated on behalf of her son and daughter and has actively supported many other students in the DC and Baltimore communities. Cara’s consulting work highlights her ability to build strong relationships, patience, strategic thinking, and genuine compassion for families and educators navigating the world of special education.
Cara is a strong believer in “it takes a village” and is dedicated to helping students achieve success in school and in life.
Cara holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from Mount St. Mary's University, along with 20+ years of professional experience. She has also worked 2+ years as a Family Support Coordinator with the State of Maryland for families with children in Special Education.
Cara is a member of the Council of Parents, Attorneys, and Advocates and a Master IEP Coach®.
If you sit at an IEP table and you're ready to see awesome results for students in Special Education, you're in the right place
